Amir included in Pakistan’s pace-heavy World Cup squad

Pakistan have confirmed their squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup in USA and the Caribbean with both Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir making it to the final fifteen.

The Babar Azam-led side has as many as five players featuring in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Both Wasim and Amir had recently taken back their retirements to be included in the national side and have kept their spots for the World Cup as well.

Amongst those that miss out include pacer Hasan Ali, Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Irfan Khan who were all picked for Pakistan’s matches against England recently. No traveling reserves have been announced by Pakistan.

A media release from PCB stated that the team remained optimistic about Haris Rauf’s injury recovery. Pakistan are set to kickstart their tournament on 6th June when they take on co-hosts USA in Dallas.
